Font Installation

Font is the main text style of every computer systems. Inable to view some information in a certain system, it is fundamental that fonts is installed already. To install fonts, follow the proceeding instructions.

1. Go to Start Menu, then press Run.

2. Type FONTS. (The List of all system fonts folder will appear. Commonly located at C:/Windows/Fonts)

3. Now, Locate your fonts. If it is on a compact disc, insert it first.

4. Find the directory/folder of fonts you want to install.

5. When fonts has been locate, press Ctrl + A (Select All) then Drag all the fonts in the System Fonts folder.

Now you will notice that the font automatically installed itself when drag upon the System Fonts folder. When your computer is reformatted, commonly you will be prompt that the font you want to install is already installed. To install it, first remove the old version. Actually, you will no longer need to remove the previous font installed. Just drag and drag and press Ok until in finished its installation. Done when 100% has been reached…

Familiarizing File Extensions

In computer technology, it is very significant to know several types of computer file extensions. Coz, it denotes the application what kind of application exist, installed and run in your PC. In this tutorial, I want to share with you how can we be familiarizing in applications, specially file extensions.

Ok let’s start…

1. Go to Start Menu, search for Run.

2. Under Run dialog, type explorer.exe. (This will open Microsoft Explorer)

3. In the menu bar, search for Tools and look for Folder Options.

4. Under Folder Options, Go to File Types.

Look at the picture. You will notice that a group of icons has been listed here represented by 3-5 or 6 (maybe) letters. These are what we called file extensions. Once installed, it will listed here and at the Registry that denotes that the file runs in your system and it is supported by your PC. File Extensions can be only added once a application has been installed like Microsoft Office.

Microsoft Office is a package of very useful applications that is commonly used worldwide in a specific business, industrial places, malls and other establishments. MS Office supports the most common files types such as .DOC for MS Word, .XLS for MS Excel and .PPT for MS Powerpoint.

File extensions are internationally registered once in a certain websites. You can find it there if your PC not supported it. Proceed below for further instructions….

Note: We recommend leaving the default settings of this dialog or else your documents cannot be retrieve. TY

If the file is not supported by a certain application, follow this steps:

1. Open your Internet Browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox or Opera)

2. In the address bar, type google, yahoo, aol or what ever search engine you want to use.

3. Now type the file extensions you are looking for. Ex: .JPEG.

4. You see the list of websites found. Click the first one.

Searching Hide documents

I have experience before that I have lost the 5GB of music files in our PC.

In your Windows Explorer

1. Click Search button or just press Ctrl + F (‘find’ in older version)
2. Click All files and folders
3. Click More advanced options.
4. Check hidden files and folders
5. Type what you want to find.

Hide documents represents a document with 50% image opacity.
To unhide your documents.

1. Right-click on the file chosen.
2. Select Properties.
3. Uncheck ‘HIDE’ then press APPLY or OK.

To show your document permanently, follow this steps:

1. Go to MS Explorer. Open My Computer or My Documents.

2. In the Menu bar, select Tools and then Folder Options.

3. Select View Tab proceed to advanced settings.

4. Click show hidden files and press Ok.
